If you are planning a trip to Daylesford, there are several great places to eat. Here are some of our favourites, based on the quality of the food, price and friendly service.
The Eatery Daylesford boasts not only great take-away food, but also the friendliest service in town.
If you sometimes feel that the restaurants in town haven't welcomed you as they should, then try this unpretentious place. The food might not be as healthy as organic tofu on iceberg lettuce, but it's cooked with love - and that sits really well on the stomach.
So say hi to Teena and Bob and enjoy some fries!

Big portions and a friendly atmosphere make this a great place to indulge in some delicous Chinese food.
Dine in or take-away, you'll enjoy what you eat. In particular - for meat eaters - the fried duck is worth clocking up a few miles on the odometer. For vegetarians, the vegetables in black bean sauce with cashew nuts really satisfies.

The Bookbarn @ Daylesford is the most relaxing place to have a coffee or cake in town. It's also one of the most beautiful with its gorgeous view out onto the lake.
For those that enjoy the finer things in life, you can also indulge in some wine and cheese while having a chat or reading a book.
The cafe / secondhand bookstore is run by Andrew Green who is always quick with a smile and a few friendly words. For him, this business or more about lifestyle than making money, so there is a quality about the Bookbarn @ Daylesford that many other cafes in the area lack.
So drop in for your next book, have a coffee and relax. You won't be disappointed. This is one of the best places to visit in Daylesford.
