Essential Reiki

Because all of the traditional Reiki symbols appear in this book, it caused a stir when it first came out.

Since then the Internet has made it less shocking, but the bold qualities that led to the original revelation still color the rest of the work.

In my opinion the vibe of the book is better suited to women than men - Stein tends to have done most of her work with women - but if you're a man who doesn't need to defend 'maleness' you should still get much from the work.

The book is structured around an analysis of the three Reiki levels and Stein discusses their various components and how to get the most out of them.

One of the strengths of her approach is that she integrates teachings from other sources where it helps deepen our Reiki practice.

For instance, work done by Louise Hay on the cause of illness and Mantak Chia on energy work figures prominently.

Due to the works eclectic nature, everybody is bound to get something out it.
