Reiki is not magic, and serious issues will generally require more than one session; but in most cases you will experience positive effects right from the very beginning.
How a Healing Session Works
Healing sessions last approximately 60 minutes and begin with a brief discussion of any issues that are troubling you.
After that the healing session proper begins. It is divided up into two main parts:
- Realignment of the energy system (energy centres and energy channels), clearing out energy blockages and recharging depleted areas.
- Intense work on any specific area that is troubling you.
Both parts are necessary, because the root cause of an illness is often not what it would seem. Shoulder pain, for instance, might be caused by a problem with you lower back; while tooth decay might arise due to energy issues in your lower chakras (energy centres).
Giving the entire body an energetic workover is often therefore the best way to fix even issues that seems to reside in a very specific area.
Intuitive Healing
Like the Energy Tune-Ups, we use intuition to guide our healing sessions.
It is important to use intuition because each situation is different. It therefore makes no sense to give every person the same treatment (something which many Reiki healers do!).
Final steps:
At the conclusion of the treatment we will briefly discuss any feelings or sensations that may have arisen during the treatment. A few suggestions will then be made regarding how to get the most from the healing session.

Things to Remember
No two reiki sessions are alike. Everyone is different, so you can never predict the result of a session ahead of time.
Furthermore, Reiki energy has a mind of its own. It goes where needed, not necessarily to the place where we think it is needed.
It is not unusual for someone to come in hoping to say, get rid pain in the lower back, only to have a stiff neck fixed instead.
What almost always happens, however, is that some positive effect from a session is felt.
This will often happen more or less straight away, but sometimes the reaction is delayed to the days to come.
Om Reiki Centre guarantees a positive result. We can't guarantee the particular result. But we do guarantee that you will find healing sessions worth your while.
If you don't, just tell us (write or phone) after allowing a few days for the Reiki energy to do its work (and before two weeks have passed) and we will happily give a full refund.
Tips for a Great Healing Session
To get the most out of your Energy Tune-Up you should do a few simple things:
- Drink plenty of water, both before and after the session.
- Come a few minutes early to give yourself time to relax for starting.
- Make sure you have a few minutes to spare after the session. You will want to enjoy the feeling of deep relaxation that you will most likely be experiencing.
- Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before or after a session.
- If possible, try to avoid over stimulation through food and drink for a couple of hours before and after a session.
- Have the intention to receive whatever your body and mind need during the session.
